August 6 – The Libertyville Stars swim club held its annual “kick-off-the-new-season” picnic on a sunny, yet hot and humid, Saturday afternoon at Adler Park. The athletes played some “cool” (WET) team-building games — including a crazy obstacle course, a splish-splash sponge pass, and a red Solo cup race (“let’s have a party”). We also had a chance to celebrate Alex’s and Catherine’s medal-winning achievements at the 2022 USA Games. And, everyone was treated to an icy-cold snack from the Kona Ice truck.

It’s been quite a challenging past couple of years. As a final game, Coach Tina led the team through a rope exercise that reminded us that we, working together as a team, can unravel any adversity and “knots” that might appear in the year ahead. Now, let’s have our best season ever! It’s our time to SHINE!
