Our season runs from September through the completion of the Illinois Summer Games in June. We train on Sundays from 11:15 to 12:45 and follow the District 128 schedule for winter and spring breaks and major holidays. We practice in the beautiful Libertyville High School pool where we host our swim meets.

The September annual enrollment fee is $350 and is non-refundable. Team memberships are not prorated.

A $100 discount ($250 annually) is provided if you volunteer for our annual fundraising effort - the Knights of Columbus Tootsie Roll Drive.

Swimmer qualifications:

• Eleven years of age or older with a documented developmental disability.
• Capable of swimming 25 yards correctly in at least 2 strokes - typically freestyle and backstroke.
• Be able to swim in an "all deep" pool without assistance. Our competition pool averages 7 feet in depth.
• Be able to understand English language instructions and positively react to guidance from coaches.
• Must be able to manage personal hygiene and function independently in the locker room
• No major behavioral disorders.
• Must be able to take turns and work with teammates in the same lane. We are not staffed for one-on-one coaching.
• A positive attitude and a willingness to improve their swimming skills.
• Athlete/parents must register with Illinois Special Olympics and submit a health history form and liability waiver.
• A desire to work hard, compete, have tons of fun, and be part of the best Special Olympic swim team in Illinois!

Enroll & pay for the 2026 - 2027 Libertyville Stars season

The old medical form has been eliminated. Now you will log back into the account you created with Special Olympics Illinois and update your medical information each year. This is through the SOILL's Center of Excellence portal. You can also update your contact and health information when things change. Click on the link below and then:

• Sign In (you already have an account)
• Register and manage participants
• Click on the pull down menu to the right of your athlete's name
• Go to checklist. Note that the waiver never expires.
• Note the Medical expiration date
• Renew form
• Make any needed updates
• Save and continue
• Electronically or manually sign the document (2 places)
